Ingredients: rice, 250 grams pork, 3 tablespoons soy sauce, 1 tablespoon rice wine, 1 tablespoon brown sugar, 1 onion, 1 green pepper, 1 yellow pepper, 3 gherkins, 5 tablespoons water, 1 tablespoon rice vinegar, 5 tablespoons tomato ketchup, salt, pepper,
Boil the rice according to the pack instructions. Marinate 250 grams pork with 3 tablespoons soy sauce, 1 tablespoon rice wine and 1 tablespoon brown sugar. Let marinate at least 15 minutes. Bake in hot oil until the marinated pork until brown and scoop it from the pan. Bake in the remaining oil 1 chopped onion, 1 chopped green pepper, 1 chopped yellow pepper and 3 sliced gherkins. Stir fry about a minute or 2. Add 5 tablespoons water, 1 tablespoon rice vinegar and 5 tablespoons tomato ketchup. Season with salt and pepper. Let it simmer for about 20 minutes on low heat. Make a marinade of 1 tablespoon rice wine, 1 tablespoon soy sauce, 2 teaspoons sesame oil and 1 teaspoon of cornflour. Mix well. Marinate approximately 300 grams cut in strips pork. This should marinate for at least 20 minutes, preferably longer. Cook in hot oil the pork strips brown. If the meat is brown, add 5 chopped spring onions, salt, pepper and 1 teaspoon sugar. Stir fry for a minute or 5 and then add a handful of peanuts. Make the noodles ready as indicated on the packaging. Tasty!
For Babi Ketjap cook 2 finely chopped onions in hot oil until the onions are golden brown. Add 800g diced pork and cook brown. Add the herbs: 1 tablespoon koriander powder, 1 tablespoon cumin powder and 1 tablespoon ginger powder. Also add 1 finely chopped garlic clove, 2 tablespoons tomato puree, 5 tablespoons ketjap manis (sweet Indonesian soy sauce) and 1 tablespoon vinegar. Add some water, bring to boil, lower the heat and let it simmer for 3 hours. For banana chips: Heat oil and butter and fry slices banana (I took 4 bananas) 2 minutes each sides. Drain it on kitchen paper. Scatter some icing sugar over it when it still hot. We had rice and green beans in sweet & sour sauce with it. Enjoy!
