Peyton & Byrne – London

At St. Pancras station we still had to wait for ‘boarding’ of the Eurostar. Fortunately, there are plenty of shops and St. Pancras station at one of these shops were these cupcakes really calling ‘eat me’. Fortunately we had a few pounds left and that we have spent it on these two cupcakes from Peyton & Byrne. If you come across this shop in London, certainly take a look!

bangers and mashitalian meatballs
After a whole day walking and taking the bus in London, we have chosen to simply stay at the hotel to eat. This was a good choice. Michel opted for a typical English courts ‘Bangers and Mash’, mashed potatoes (with leeks), sausages and gravy. Personally I chose Italian Pasta with Meat Balls in Pomodori sauce. This was linguine with Italian spiced meatballs with tomato sauce pomodori. Very nice!

Bella Italia

Bella Italia - London
During a walk through London we arrived at this small Italian restaurant. In retrospect this proved to belong to a larger chain of Italian restaurants. The food was not good and not bad, I was able to make the dishes themselves at home. Michel opted for a pizza ‘Quattro Stagioni’ the four seasons, pepperoni, smoked ham, roasted mushrooms and artichokes, and I choose the Penne Pollo Crema e-chicken, Pancetta bacon, roasted peppers, red onion and penne, baked in the oven in a white whine sauce and cream sauce.

Gourmet Burger
Across London, they’re too ‘flyer’, even for this restaurant. The menu looked good, so went we to lunch. Here we choose both for a ‘gourmet burgers’. A homemade hamburger with fries. It was a real quality burger.

Scotch Steak Houses – London

This seemed a funny restaurant, really wierd interior in Scottish (green and red), but actually it was a setback. Mushy fries, dry chicken (also a little too hard grilled). Michel wanted a beef bourgignion but they could not serve it so then he took the Chicken Alabama (chicken legs in a herd) and I chose the Chicken Chasseur (chicken breast with a kind of red wine sauce). Not to be recommended.
