With this game you get instructions to learn to cook. Soon following a comprehensive update on what we’ve made in the cooking class and whether the game is fun in the kitchen, or not!

Michel and I have made this with the Nintendo DS and Cooking Guide: guacamole and saltimbocca ala romana. The other winners and cook Tijs have been made: tomato salsa, gazpacho, fish gratin, Mexican salad, potato tortilla and brownies with banana. A varied dinner! Everything was filmed and shortly a film of our cooking class can be seen on the Dutch and Belgium Nintendo site.

With Cooking Guide you can actually cook. The advantage is that Nintendo is not so big at your worksurface than a cookbook. There are 254 recipes available in Cooking Guide. You can choose by clicking on a particular country, you can search by ingredients or keywords. Got the recipe found which you want than you first start with the ingredients. Choose the number of persons for whom you want to cook and Cooking Guide calculates the proper ratio of ingredients. When you don’t have everything in your cupboard than you can tick and Cooking Guide puts it on the shopping list. Of all the ingredients, there is a photograph available. Then begins Part 2, the steps, preparing the ingredients, so cutting, shelling and you name it. If you don’t understand a step there is a possibility for additional steps to demonstrate in the form of thumbnails or a movie in which it is done. If you have all ingredients ready the step 3 starts: cooking. Step by step instructions given by the cook. When you are ready with a step you call “continue” and you hear the next step.
