Actifry Fries!

actifry in actiefrites van de actifry
Yesterday we recieved a Tefal Actifry for testing. That was actually directly tested, but unfortunately we already had something else for dinner. So at the very last day off Britt’s holiday we had fries during lunch. Personally, we have no deep fryer and bake our chips and snacks in the oven. What we tested: 1. how to use the device?, 2. how does the preparation towards the oven? and 3. the tasting. Easy to use the device, installing for the first use requires little effort. The preparation of the chips are rally easy. It is just putting the fresh french fries in the pan, add 3/4 spoon oil, close lid, and put the actifry on. Possibly you can also use the timer function, but you could just use a traditional cithen timer. The preparation compared to the oven: in Actifry you can put directly the chips in the pan. By preparation in the oven, you always have to wait until the oven is properly warmed up and this can take a while. The tasting? A lot less fat than the chips from the take-away. Crispy and delicious in taste. Ovenfrites can sometimes be a bit weak because it lays in a bit of fat. What this test is concerned, the Actifry made a positive impression!

Candybar

Candybar
On television this week was an episode of Nigella Express with ‘ The Rocky Road Crunch Bars “, a simple and very tasty recipe Nigella Lawson . I tried it in my own kitchen. Instead of the Golden Syrup, I opted for simple syrup, which I had at home, and golden syrup is not available here.

Ingredients: 225 grams biscuits, 100 gram marsmellows, 300 grams plain chocolate, 125 grams butter, 3 tablespoons syrup,

Crumble 225 grams biscuits fine (fine crumbles and larger pieces). Put it in a bowl and add 100 grams mini marshmellows to it, I had normal pink and white mashmellows, So I used a kitchen scissor to make it smaller. Mix this well with the cookies.

Melt-au bain marie 300 grams of plain chocolate, 125 grams of butter and 3 tablespoons syrup. Stir this well while it melts. When the chocolate is melted, stir 2/3 of the melted chocolate on the cookie crumbles and marshmellow mixture. Stir the chocolate with a spatula around the cookie crumbles and marshmellows.

Pour this mixture in a baking paper held brownie tin. Pour the last bit of melted chocolate over it and try to top a bit smoother. Cover the brownie tin with aluminum foil and set it at least 2 hours in the refrigerator, prefer longer … Cut it in smaller pieces and enjoy!

Pour the macaroni and stir it with the mushroom-roomsaus and serve. Tasty!

Mushrooms in Beer Batter
This is delicious as a snack with hot sweet chilli sauce or if we have done as starter. Make er person 3 large mushrooms clean. Make a batter with 1 / 2 bottle beer (we had Heineken), salt, pepper, thyme, oregano to taste and 1 egg. Stir then little by little about 100 grams plain flour. You need a thickness of yoghurt. Add the mushrooms to the batters (the batter should be everywhere on the mushroom) and fry the mushrooms in hot oil until it is golden brown. Let the mushrooms even leak on paper towels and serve them with sweet chilli sauce. Enjoy!
